June 11, 2020 — He’s been a school teacher, a superintendent, state lawmaker, and President of the Illinois Association of School Boards. Now, his new title is, “Author”
Republican Roger Eddy, tells the events he witnessed in his new book, “A Front Row Seat: The Impeachment of Rod Blagojevich” The sub-title of the book is, “The cards I was dealt, and the lessons I learned” Eddy says after the impeachment of President Trump earlier this year, many of his friends and neighbors asked about the impeachment of Rod Blagojevich.
Eddy says the two are NOTHING alike. Blagojevich he explains was such a disaster as a governor, he only wishes the legislature would have acted sooner to remove Blagojevich from office prior to his January 2009 impeachment. His book also delves into the power wielded by House Speaker Madigan, who is the longest serving House Speaker in US History. Eddy says when he shares how Madigan controls the House of Representatives, and that no bill moves forward without his consent, he often hears how shocked people are that one man in state government has such power.
His book captures the events on history that were and are, a part of what’s placed Illinois in the position of being on the verge of bankruptcy, with a story told by the author who had a “front row seat” to the events as they transpired.
