State Capitol — A firm in Willowbrook, “Sterigenics” which uses a process to sterilize items for hospitals, was ordered to be closed recently in light of findings that there were gas emissions coming from the plant. The gas that was measured in the air by the Federal EPA, is Ethylene Oxide, which has been reported as a known cancer causing gas.
In this press conference, members of the legislature that service on House and Senate Environmental committees, and local government committees, speak on what they look to have happen to protect the communities around Willowbrook, and other such plants where populations may be exposed to harmful gas emissions.
