Sens Manar (D) and Sandoval (D) to Hold a Series of Statewide Hearings on Need for a Capital Bill

State Capitol, February 21, 2019 – Following their hearing on the need for a new Capital bill, to fund new construction and to put more money into infrastructure repairs, Senators Andy Manar, and Martin Sandoval spoke with reporters to say the testimony of witnesses before their committee underscored the need to pass the first Capital bill in over 10 years.

They said as part of that process, Senate President John Cullerton (D), has asked senators Manar and Sandoval to hold a series of hearings and meetings around the state to hear regional needs and to incorporate those ideas into the bill that has yet to be written.

In his Budget Address, Gov Pritzker said that passing a Capital bill was among his primary legislative goals for the state.
