From the City Club of Chicago – Darlene Senger, a former state representative, who spent her career in finance, tells the City Club audience about her plans for the Comptroller’s office, if she is elected.
Senger noted in remarks that her opponent, current Comptroller Mendoza, is considering a run for Mayor of Chicago, and argues that shows a lack of real interest Mendoza has in the office. The Comptroller’s office is responsible for processing the payment of bills incurred by the state.
Senger is looking to make the Comptroller’s office a stronger voice for fiscal responsibility as the state works through its budget crisis.
