Hans Von Spakovsky on Illegal Immigration, DACA, and President Trump’s Tenure in Office

From Maryland:  We recently spoke with Hans Von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow with the Heritage Foundation, about the details of proposed solutions for DACA recipients, and his thoughts on President Trump’s administration so far.

Mr Von Spakovsky is a nationally known researcher, writer, and speaker on these issues, who approaches the subject matter in terms of the rule of law as it applies to the immigration debate, and what changes can be made to make our existing system of legal immigration more responsive and less expensive of a process.

He speaks with us about the President’s recent offer of extending amnesty to 1,800,000 DACA subjects, and what he thinks about the potential political trade between that proposal in exchange for Congressional Democrats voting to provide funds to build a secure border barrier between the US and Mexico.
