Illinois Launches 24-Hour Helpline for Those with Addiction to Opioids

Chicago:  With the aid of a Federal grant, the State of Illinois is launching a 24 Hour HELP LINE for those seeking assistance to fight their opioid addiction.

The statewide helpline is available at 1-833-2FINDHELP. It is funded through a federal grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

Calls to the help line will be handled by trained specialists who can connect callers with treatment and recovery-support services.

Gov Rauner says the goal is to “combat further drug overdose tragedies.”  Last year 1,950 people died from opioid overdoses in Illinois.
