Chicago — From the Illinois Assn of School Board Members annual conference, a panel of Illinois lawmakers discuss the issues impacting education, and take questions and comments from school board members. The panel is moderated by Dr Michael Jacoby, of the Illinois Assn of School Business Officials.
In 2017, a new school funding formula was passed by the legislature that is intended to increase funding for rural school districts and those in areas with low property values. This was the first major rewrite of the school funding formula in 20 years.
