Tons of Donated Goods Hauled for Free to Hurricane Victims in Texas and Florida, by Illinois Trucking Firms

Springfield: The one-two punch of major hurricanes hitting first Texas and then Florida, left thousands without the comforts of everyday life, including food and water, and many other items we routinely use, such as toothpaste and shampoos.

But thanks to the efforts of the Illinois Trucking Association members, donated goods, gathered from around Illinois have been moving in a series of deliveries from Illinois to Houston, and parts of Florida. The cost of these deliveries in 18-wheeled trucks, would normally cost thousands of dollars each, but are being donated by trucking firms, making these vital deliveries without compensation.

We hear more about how this came about from Matt Hart, Executive Director of the Illinois Truckers Association.
