Washington, June 1, 2017: From the Rose Garden at the White House, President Trump announced the United States is pulling out of the Paris Climate agreement.
This agreement was negotiated during the Obama administration, but was never submitted to the US Senate for a vote. Many argued this agreement is needed to protect the planet from pollution and the impact on the climate.
But others, including a number of US Senators, have said this agreement would cost the US economy billions of dollars, and puts the United States at a competitive disadvantage, as it places restrictions on the US economy that would not apply to other nations, like China and India for years to come.
