Parents Fighting PANDAS, a Disorder Most of Us Have Never Heard of, But Need to be Aware of

From the State Capitol:   We talk with mothers whose children were stricken with a disorder known by the acronym PANDAS, which affects the brain in some children, after they get strep throat.  Because few know about this condition, it often goes undiagnosed and mistreated, when treatment can cure the condition in most cases.

We hear from two mothers whose children were affected, and talk with Senators Tom Cullerton (D) and Mike Connelly (R), on legislation they’re backing that would require insurance companies to cover the cost of treatment.
