Do Asphalt Sealants on Parking Lots and Driveways Pose a Health Risk?

From the State Capitol:  A group of concerned citizens say the asphalt sealant commonly used on parking lots and driveways, poses a health risk to consumers, when the sealant breaks down over time.  They claim the sealant dust can be inhaled, or become a part of our streams when rains wash the dust into storm sewers.

But those in the chemical industry and from the association of asphalt sealers, say these claims are unfounded.  After hearing from those who say there is a health risk, we hear from those who say, this is a non-issue.
