From the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library: We talk with historian and fmr military officer, Mark DePue on his work of conducting indepth oral history interviews with political leaders, such as former Governors Jim Thompson, and Jim Edgar. His interviews also go into the individual recollections of military veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and those who participated in the war on terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as a series on Illinois agriculture. In our discussion, we hear how he conducts these interviews, and why they matter.
