Gov Rauner Urges Changes to Fix Illinois’ Economy & Political Culture

From Naperville:  Gov Rauner (R) speaks to the Farmer’s Insurance agents meeting, and urges support for the changes he says are needed to fix those policies that make Illinois economically noncompetitive.

The Governor begins by noting his 18 months in office showed him the challenges are greater than the imagined, telling his audience “However bad you think government is… it’s worse!”

The Governor says there are four areas of reform that are needed to get Illinois back on track.  He notes IL is the worst state in America for funding K-12 education, the worst state for funding its pensions, and too much crony capitalism and insider political double dealing.

He notes 2/3rds of Illinois’ legislators running for election this year, face NO competition.
