From Cleveland and the Republican National Convention: Sen Ted Cruz defends his speech Weds night. In which he did not come out and say he would endorse Donald Trump.
This morning he says he is still “watching and listening”” before deciding if he will vote for Donald Trump, noting the election is not today.
Cruise told a gathering of delegates that if the Republicans theme is about Trump or Hillary’s emails they lose. He said the way to win the election is to talk about freedom and how Republicans will enhance the lives of ordinary Americans.

As the wide spread criticism of him and his address to the convention on Wednesday night, when he failed to endorse Donald Trump and was booed off the stage by a number of delegations, Cruz said he had informed Trump 3 days before the address that he would not endorse him in his speech to the convention.
But Trump said to a group of Republican donors on Thursday morning, that he and others thought, despite what Cruz had said, that they thought Cruz might change his mind when he was addressing a national audience and come forth with an endorsement.
In questioning before delegates on Thursday morning, Cruz admitted that — despite statements in this convention address, the real reason he has refused to endorse Trump, is that he still harbors strong resentment toward Trump, due to Trumps statements about Cruz’s wife and father.
