October 13, 2004 The Illinois Channel’s coverage of the first debate between United States Senate candidates Barack Obama (D) and Alan Keyes (R) will be broadcast nationally this Friday, October 15, on C-SPAN2. The program will air nationally at 7:00 p.m. Central Time. The first debate between the two candidates was held in the Old State Capitol in Springfield on Tuesday evening and was carried live around the state on the Illinois Radio Network, which organized the event. In addition to C-SPAN2’s airing of the debate, the program will air on the Illinois Channel network, which includes 70 Illinois communities as well as all of Jefferson and St. Louis Counties in Missouri, beginning Monday of next week.
