FutureGen: The Quest for Zero-Emission Fossil Fuel Usage and its Potential for Illinois

Electric Deregulation & Electric Rate Pricing

From the State Capitol in Springfield: Representative Lisa Dugan discusses her legislation, HB-5766, which would extend the nine-year-old freeze on electric rates.  Under electric deregulation, which passed in 1997, the price freeze on electric utility rates is set to expire at the end of this year.  Following Representative Dugan, Anne Pramaggiore, Senior Vice President with ComEd, discusses why continuing the price freeze on electric utility rates will hurt both consumers and utilities.

Impact of Requiring Increased Ethanol Use as a Motor Fuel
