June 1, 2020 — From the Rose Garden, President Trump called what happened around the nation last night — the rioting and looting in cities across America, “disgusting” and promised it will not happen again. The President said he is ordering military units to be armed and ready to deploy if needed to quell rioting in American cities.
He called on governors and mayors to meet the rioters with “overwhelming force” and said if they can’t do that, he will through the use of US military units. He also called on communities to have a curfew to clear the streets.
