Enhancing School Security

From the Illinois Association of School Boards annual conference, a panel of security experts discuss the threats in schools and how administrators need to think about these before a crisis hits.

The program begins with a review of the shooting at the high school in Parkland, Florida in early 2018, with analysis of what when wrong and what went right. Why was no one killed on the Second Floor of the school, while there were multiple deaths on the third floor? What were the failures of law enforcement, and what message should administrators learn from this tragedy?

Planning and practicing plans, the location of crisis alert systems, and from BluePoint Security, the benefits of installing Police alarms that work in the same way that fire alarms have for years — allowing individuals and police to be automatically alerted to a crisis unfolding.
