Paris, Illinois – We often hear how it’s incredibly difficult to create jobs in Illinois. But in this interview with Paris Mayor Craig Smith, we learn what Paris leaders are doing right, that’s resulted in this town of 9,000 residents being able to attract major employers and help them expand their operations.
The town is now so successful in creating employment that 25% of the workforce drives in daily from Indiana. Following our interview with Mayor Smith, we talk with Prof Hull from Lake Land Community College, and corporate leaders with North American Lighting, to hear how business and educators created the Eccel Academy, that introduces Paris students to different careers and leadership skills, so they can have a better concept of what working in a particular field would actually entail.
