From the City Club of Chicago – Sen Durbin on Monday, October 1, announced a new initiative with Chicago based hospitals, to engage in a cooperative effort to diminish the violence in Chicago. The potential of hiring young people into internships, to show them the promise of good jobs, in lieu of a life in crime, is one of the features. The program is called HEAL, which stands for Hospital, Engagement, Action, Leadership.
