Springfield: Collectors from around the nation gathered in Springfield to showcase, trade and buy buttons, pamphlets, and posters of former presidential candidates, governors, and others.
These items still trumpet the now forgotten names of candidates from years past that once were the leaders of their states, or the nation. As we hear from several collectors — keeping campaign materials from long-ago campaigns, is a way of holding history in your hands, and recollecting the passions of issues now past.. and the individuals who championed those causes that engaged the nation.
