Springfield –– Al Bowman, the interim Executive Director of the Illinois Board of Higher Education, addresses the State Universities Annuitants’ Assn annual conference.
In his address, Mr Bowman discusses the declining state support of Higher Education in Illinois over the last 15 years, and the impact that has had on institutions and the communities where they are located.
In his remarks and answers to questions, President Bowman also looks at the changing role of higher education in society, the need as well for technical trade schools, and the need for higher education to stay current with the evolving economy.
