Langley Virginia: May 21, 2018 – Gina Haspel, a 30 year veteran of the CIA was sworn-in as the first woman to become the nation’s CIA Director.

Haspel took the oath from Vice President Mike Pense, as Sec of State Mike Pompeo, her successor, and President Trump looked on.
Haspel is not only the first woman to lead the agency, but one of the very few CIA Directors to have spent their career within the intelligence community.
In her remarks following her taking the oath of office, she said that the CIA is the very best intelligence agency in the world, but cautioned her colleagues that they cannot rest on their laurels, and noted the threats to the United States are more dangerous and demanding than at any other time in the nation’s history.
