Seeking to be the First Republican Governor Re-Elected in 20 Years, Gov Rauner Rallies Republicans at the State Fair

State Fair — with posters reading “Rauner = Reform” Gov Bruce Rauner addresses Republicans at the State Fair on Governor’s Day.

The governor laid out his agenda, which includes winning NINE House seats in the 2018 elections, to remove Speaker Madigan and the Democrats from controlling the House Chamber.

As he seeks re-election, Gov Rauner hopes to become the first Illinois  Republican Governor to gain a second term in 20 years, since Jim Edgar was re-elected in 1998.
