Poll Shows Gov Rauner’s Support Continues to Decline in Wake of Budget Standoff

July 27 — A new poll conducted on behalf of the National Governor’s Association, shows Gov Bruce Rauner suffering very low support among respondents, with an increasing number of those being polled giving the governor low marks in the way he’s handled the state budget.

Of course, it was earlier this month, that the legislature gave Illinois its first operating budget in 3 years, when it overrode the Governor’s veto of the state budget.

The poll, which was conducted among 600 respondents, between July 18 – 20, shows the Governor’s negatives increasing 5% compared to similar poll published in January, 2017.

Here’s the highlights of the polls’ findings at released to the media by the Washington media firm of Normington – Petts
