House Debate on Const Amendment to Change Political Redistricting

From the Capitol: We hear a portion of the debate in the Illinois House on a proposed Constitutional Amendment, that would remove the drawing of political boundaries for elections from political parties, and put this task into the hands of a panel, whose members are selected by various leaders.   This is one of the reforms that is proposed by Gov Rauner as part of his “Turnaround Agenda”,  though this legislation was not written by the governor’s office.   If passed by both Chambers, the amendment would appear on the November ballot.
