From Springfield and home of the SJ-R, we hear a panel comprised of a journalist, lawyer and city official discuss the benefits and problems of using the Freedom of Information Act [ FOIA ] in Illinois. This panel was organized by the Better Government Association. We hear how Illinois’ administration of FOIA requests differs from other states… and what some consider to be the best states in allowing citizens and journalists to access information under FOIA.
